Airport Taxi Luggage Guide: What Fits in a Sedan, SUV and Van?

Packing for a flight is stressful enough without worrying about space in the car. This airport taxi luggage guide shows what usually fits in a sedan, SUV and van, so you can choose the right vehicle before you book. Because boot sizes vary, treat the figures below as a rough guide and confirm the details with us.

Why Airport Taxi Luggage Space Matters

Luggage space decides which vehicle you need. If bags do not fit, the driver may have to rearrange the trip, and that can cause delays. Therefore, it is much easier to get it right at the booking stage.

Passenger numbers matter too. Four adults and four large suitcases need more room than two adults and two bags. As a result, you should always count both people and bags.

How Much Airport Taxi Luggage Fits in a Sedan?

Our Standard Taxi and Premium Taxi are sedans. As a rough guide, a sedan boot usually takes two large suitcases, or three medium ones. Smaller bags and backpacks can sit on the back seat or the floor, as long as passengers still have enough room.

A sedan suits solo travellers, couples and small business trips. However, it is not ideal for a family with a pram and several bags.

What Fits in an SUV or Wagon?

An SUV or wagon offers a larger and more flexible luggage area. With the rear seats up, many models take around three to four large suitcases, plus smaller bags. This makes an SUV a popular choice for families of four and for groups with sports gear.

What Fits in a Van?

Our Van Taxi is built for bigger groups. It can seat up to ten passengers. Nevertheless, a full van of people with large suitcases can run short of space. So if you have six or more passengers with big bags, tell us in advance and we will plan the best fit.

That way, we can send a vehicle with the right space and avoid a last-minute change. If you have a larger load than a passenger vehicle can carry, see our baggage transport page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a sedan taxi fit two large suitcases?

Usually, yes. However, boot sizes vary by model, so tell us your bag count when you book and we will confirm the right vehicle.

Do I need an SUV or van for a family of four with luggage?

An SUV or wagon often suits four passengers with several bags. A van is safer if you have more than four large suitcases or extra items such as a pram.

Can I bring a pram, golf clubs or sports gear?

In most cases, yes. Please mention these items when you book so we can send a vehicle with enough space.

Is there an extra charge for luggage?

Pricing depends on your vehicle and trip. Ask for the full fare when you book so there are no surprises on the day.
